Mildred E. Kennedy, 95, of Allenwood, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at her home.
She was born July 21, 1921 in Allenwood, a daughter of the late Robert D. and Alta E. (Shopbell) Overdorf.
Mildred graduated from Watsontown High School. She worked at various local Manufacturers including the former Montgomery Mills and later retired from the Milton Shoe Factory.
Mildred was an 86 year member of the White Deer Valley Baptist Church, Allenwood, where she previously taught adult Sunday school classes for several years.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed her flowers and gardening.
Surviving are three sons, Dusty Barrett, of Allenwood, William J. Barrett Jr. and his wife, Daun, of Allenwood and Larry Barrett; one daughter, Bonnie Jean Clark and her husband, Robert, of Florida; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, William J. Barrett Sr. and her second husband, LeRoy Kennedy; and two sisters, Thelma Waring and Marian Lupold.
Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 2 p.m. with her Pastor, Michael Deal, officiating
Burial will be held in the Uniontown Cemetery, Allenwood.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Mildred's name be made to the White Deer Valley Baptist Church, 572 White Deer Baptist Church Rd., Allenwood, PA 17810.
