Mildred A. “Millie” Voneida, 96, a longtime resident of Lewisburg, passed into a better life Friday, January 27, 2017 at Nottingham Village, Northumberland, with her loving niece and the caring staff by her side.
She was born May 3, 1920 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Della P. (Wolfe) Voneida.
Millie was a graduate of Lewisburg High School. She spent most of her life working on the family farm.
Millie was a funny, quirky and loving aunt who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. She is the end of an era in her family.
Surviving is a sister-in-law, Phyllis Voneida, of Mechanicsburg; a niece and her caregiver, Carolyn Marks, of Northumberland; and many additional nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by seven brothers, Guy, Robert, Harold, David, Glenn, Lester and Irvin Voneida; and four sisters, Viola Campbell, Cora and Etheline Knapp, and Betty Young.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, February 3 at 11 a.m. in Dreisbach Church Cemetery, 875 Dreisbach Church Rd, Lewisburg.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
