Nancy E. “Murph” Murphy, 61, of Mifflinburg, died Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Sunbury.
She was born March 11, 1953 in Lewisburg, a daughter of Joseph Murphy Jr. and the late Betty (Kerstetter) Murphy.
Nancy was a 1972 graduate of Lewisburg High School, where she played Basketball. She retired in 1998 from housekeeping at the Selinsgrove Center after 20 years of employment.
She was an auxiliary member of the Kratzer-Dull American Legion, Post 182, Lewisburg. Nancy loved sports and was an avid Penn State fan. She enjoyed playing Bingo and mowing grass.
Surviving in addition to her father, of Winfield are, one brother, Joe Murphy III, of Mifflinburg; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Sharon Wright, of Mifflinburg, Rhonda Murphy, of Winfield and Penny and Charles Zimmerman, of New Berlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by one brother-in-law, Edward Wright.
Friends will be received from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg, where the funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. James R. Taylor, Chaplain SUN Home Health and Hospice.
Interment will be held privately at the Lewisburg Cemetery.
The family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Nancy’s name be made to American Cancer Society, Lycoming County Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
