Nancy G. Price

Nancy Gayle Taggart Price, 83, loving wife, daughter, mother, aunt, friend and dedicated nurse died on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at UPMC Muncy, after bravely fighting multiple health conditions during the past several years.

Born December 3, 1941, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late W. Wendle and Ruth (Keyser) Taggart. She grew up in her hometown of Hughesville, where she played trombone in the high school band and was a member of the gymnastics team. After graduating from Hughesville High School in 1959, she attended Alderson Broaddus College in West Virginia, earning a BS degree in nursing. She began her nursing career in the VA system in Washington DC and then transferred to the VA hospital in Martinsburg, WV, from where she retired as acting director of nursing.

Nancy married Thomas F. Price on September 8, 1973 and became mother to his four children, Stephen, Tommy, Sarah and Elwin.

Nancy and Tom enjoyed their retirement years together in their home on the mountain surrounded by wildlife until Tom’s death on June 3, 2015. In retirement, Nancy indulged her passion for antiques, buying them at auctions and yard sales and selling them as a dealer at the Red Barn and recently at the Country Store.

Nancy was firm in her faith. She grew up in the Hughesville Baptist Church and was currently a member of the Picture Rocks Baptist Church.

She is survived by her three sons, Thomas Price, of Hughesville, Stephen (Vicki) Trinity, of Corvalis, OR and Elwin Price, of St. George, UT; her brothers, David (Kathy) Taggart, of Muncy and Daniel (Judy) Taggart, of Concord, NC; and three grandchildren, Aurora Trinity and Logan and Zaria Price.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Sarah Ryan and her sister, Lynette Harris.

The family is planning a memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15 at Picture Rocks Baptist Church, 50 Elm Street, Picture Rocks, with her pastor, the Rev. Jerry Uppling, officiating.
