Neil Lavonne Nuss

Neil Lavonne Nuss, 80, of Muncy, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Born on July 5, 1934 in Montgomery, he was a son of the late Lester and Katherine (Scott) Nuss. On May 16, 1953 he married the former Shirley Ann Allen, who preceded him in death January 11, 1999. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage. His companion of 14 years, Constance Burfield, survives him.

Neil was a 1952 graduate of Muncy High School. He worked at Sprout Waldron, Muncy for 10 years. Neil later worked for the Sheet Metal Workers Local #44 for 28 ½ years before retiring in August of 1996.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman for most of his life. In his later years he enjoyed bowling and golf. After retirement Neil and Shirley made prize winning, handcrafted wood furniture and dolls.

Neil adored his cats, Precious, Spike and Sonny.

Surviving in addition to his companion are two daughters and one son-in-law, Debra Nuss, of Muncy and Karen and Jim Tuck, of Seaford, DE; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Pam Nuss, of Millville; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Darlene Nuss, of Traverse City, MI; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, James and Grant Nuss and a sister Julienne Fogelman.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 17 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.

A graveside service will be held privately in Muncy Cemetery.
