Oliver Clare Walker Jr.

Oliver Clare Walker Jr., 88, a longtime resident of National City, died Saturday, January 19, 2019 in Williamsport, PA.

Oliver was born December 16, 1930 in Mancelona, a son of the late Oliver Clare and Allie (Montayne) Walker. He and his wife, the former Greta Mae Adams, were married Oct. 29, 1955. Together they celebrated 57 years of marriage before her death Jan. 12, 2013.

Oliver attended Oakland Community College to obtain his GED. He served honorably as a private in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Oliver worked as a supervisor with the Ford Motor Company for over 30 years. After retirement, he worked as a residential therapist for AuSable Valley Mental Health for over 20 years before retiring again.

Oliver enjoyed traveling and riding his Gold Wing and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. He was fond of  painting, camping, smoking his pipe, rebuilding classic cars and making furniture with wood.

Surviving are a son, Brett Walker, of National City; two daughters and a son-in-law, Denise Prince and Lori and Ralph Hitesman, all of Muncy, PA; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Montayne Walker and a sister, Catherine Dukert.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, PA.
