Pamela J. Wagner

Pamela J. Wagner, 88, of Milton, went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danville.

Born November 6, 1935 in Muncy, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Denzil K. and Joyce E. (Snepp) King.

Pam was a 1953 graduate of Milton High School.  She loved to sing and played the string bass and was in band while in school.  She went on to Penn State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree.  An avid learner, Pam continued on to Cornell University for a semester to pursue nursing training.  She later completed teacher’s certification from Bucknell University, earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from Bloomsburg University, and also took courses at Lycoming College. She enjoyed learning different languages, including Spanish and Greek.

Pam's employment experiences were very diverse.  She was a therapeutic and academic teacher at the former Laurelton Center. Lewisburg Middle School opened in 1964 and Pam began teaching there as well as at a number of other area schools.  She was a licensed real estate sales person with area agencies with her most noted sale being the sale of the Lewisburg Hotel. She was a substitute mail carrier in Milton, served as a trainer for Census workers, and was a professional poll taker for Gallup and others.

She loved to travel and visit family and friends in the states, as well as travel to foreign countries.   Her most memorable trip was a cruise on the Queen Elizabeth II.  Pam loved art, always painting and sketching whatever she could find.  She was an extensive reader and enjoyed testing her knowledge by doing crossword puzzles from the newspaper.  She was also an avid swimmer and bicycle rider.

She loved volunteer work, especially knitting preemie caps for babies at Geisinger. Pam loved to participate in the CROP and MS walks every year while she was able.

Pam was a former member of Beaver Memorial United Methodist church for over 50 years, where she was very active in the choir.  She was also a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Milton.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Elizabeth Pottios and their two children, Annie and Raymond Pottios, of Kansas City, MO, and one daughter, Lavinia “Mimi” Pottios, of Plymouth, MN.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, William King, and three husbands, Raymond Pottios, Leroy Sweitzer and Leroy Wagner.

Friends will be received from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 17 at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg, where a funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 18 in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
