Formerly of Montoursville

Patricia D. Brooke Hanner, 95, formerly of Montoursville, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 at home with her family and beloved dog Darby by her side.

Born May 27, 1928 in Montoursville, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Harriet (Wilt) Foster.  She married her first husband, John L. Brooke who preceded her in 1983, and later her second husband, Marlin D. “Sonny” Hanner Sr. who preceded her in 2020.

Pat attended school in Montoursville and worked many years at the former GTE Sylvania, Montoursville.  She also spent many years caregiving and homemaking for family and friends.

Pat formerly attended Williamsport Assembly of God and most recently, Delaware Run Wesleyan Church, Watsontown.

Over the years, she loved to attend her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events including football, baseball, basketball and wrestling matches  She was an avid Penn State football and wrestling fan, a New York Yankees fan and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  Pat enjoyed listening to audio books and gospel music. She also enjoyed camping and traveling, including many trips to Myrtle Beach.

Surviving are one son, Jerry (Brendi) Brooke, of Watsontown; one daughter-in-law, Melanie (James) Brooke, of Montoursville; five grandchildren, Stephen (Karie) Brooke, Kevin (Kelsey) Brooke, Kristin (Travis) Stevenson, Kortney (Shane) Snyder, Bryson (Erika) Brooke; and eight great-grandchildren, Cadence, Reyna Peyton, Hanna, Arianna, Logan, Jaxon and Julian.

She is also survived by those whom helped her in loving ways too numerous to mention including three neices - Donna (Ron) Raudenbush, Diane (Craig) Rooker and Pat Follmer; a nephew Hank (Roxy) Chapman and neighbors Sue Wolfe and Bob and Beth Russell.

In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by one son, James Brooke (2016) and seven siblings: Theodore, John and Allen Foster, Alice Fuller, Ruth Egli, Joyce Rood and Jeannette Dittmar.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Sunday, February 18th at 3 pm at Delaware Run Wesleyan Church, 5570 Musser Lane, Watsontown.  Pastor's Mike Reece and Darrin Mitchley will be officiating.  Family and friends are invited to a reception of food and fellowship following the service at the Family Life Center behind the church.

Flowers are being provided by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UPMC Hospice in Pat’s memory. Private burial will be held in the Montoursville Cemetery.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble Funeral Home & Crematory, 308 Main St. Watsontown.
