Patricia M. Messinger

Patricia M. Messinger, 77, of 681 Red Hill Rd., Milton, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Geisinger Columbia Montour Hospice at Maria Joseph Hall, Danville.

She was born January 2, 1939 in Montandon, a daughter of the late Charles Oscar and Mary Alice (Richard) Heddings. On December 29, 1966 she married Malcolm A. Messinger, who survives. Together they celebrated 49 years of marriage.

Pat received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg State Teacher’s College. She taught for 36 years in the Milton area schools.

Pat was a member of the Montandon United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the PSEA, the NEA and the Lewisburg chapter #394 Order of the Eastern Star.

Pat enjoyed reading, camping, motorcycling and traveling. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Traci Messinger, of Milton and Matthew and Kimberly Messinger, of Millersburg; two sisters, Susan Thomas, of Montandon and Anna Messinger, of Milton; a sister-in-law, Sandra Heddings, of Selinsgrove; and six grandchildren, Ashley McCaffery and her husband, Josh, of Milton, Natalie Messinger, of St. Marys, Michael Messinger II and his fiancé, Deavon Dreisbach, of Muncy, Clayton Messinger, of Milton and Caleb and Micah Oyler, both of Millersburg; and two great-grandchildren, Keegan and Aidan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Russel Heddings.

Friends will be received from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, at the Montandon United Methodist Church, 231 Main St., Montandon, where a memorial service will be held at noon, with Pastor Joan Dodson, officiating.

Burial will follow in Montandon Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers, and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Montandon United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 86, Montandon, PA 17850.
