Paul E. Guisewhite

Paul E. Guisewhite, 83, a longtime resident of Muncy, died Monday, May 1, 2017 at AristaCare of Loyalsock.

Born February 26, 1934, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Curtis E. and Annie H. (Murray) Guisewhite.  On May 27, 1961 he married the former Agatha J. Schulte, who survives.  Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage.

Paul was a 1952 graduate of Muncy High School and received his Accounting degree from the former Tri-State University, now Trine University, Indiana.  He served honorably in the United States Air Force where he met Agatha while stationed in Ramstein, Germany.

After his time in the service, he worked for a short time in finance before eventually purchasing Trout Pond Park with his brother and sister.  A year later, he bought the rights from his brother and continued to own and operate the park with Agatha until selling and retiring from the business for good in 2009.  Paul enjoyed skating, fishing and taking care of the grounds.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one son, Gregor C. Guisewhite, of Muncy; one daughter and son-in-law, María C. and Mark Taylor, of Bernville; six grandchildren, Alexander Baker, Katharine and Lauren Taylor, Franchesca Renee and Josephine Regina Guisewhite, and Mackenzie Rose Hartman.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Lee C. Guisewhite; one sister, Cynthia M. Guisewhite; and one daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lynn Hartman-Guisewhite.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where a prayer vigil will be held at 5:45 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, with Rev. Glenn McCreary, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
