Paul L. Prowant, 94, longtime resident of Watsontown, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Watsontown Health and Rehab.
He was born October 6, 1923 in White Deer, the son of the late Martin and Bessie (Huff) Prowant. On Feb. 25, 1950 he married the former B. Isabel Watson, who preceded him in death Sept. 11, 2000. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Paul attended White Deer schools. He previously worked at the Watsontown Brick Yard, the former Clasters, now YBC, Milton and for Mike Weaver Auctioneer. Paul retired from James Harmon Construction.
He was of Lutheran faith.
Paul was a lifetime member of the Warrior Run Area Volunteer Fire Company, where he was recognized for 50 years of service. He was also a member of the Watsontown Historical Association and the Watsontown Rod and Gun Club.
Paul enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
Surviving are a son, Donald Prowant, of Watsontown; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Tim Snyder, of Allenwood; two grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Snyder and Darcy Snyder; and three great-grandchildren, Maverick Snyder and Jaxson and Ryder Bergstrom.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son in infancy, Dale Eugene Prowant and twin sisters, Grace and Marie Prowant.
The family is planning a memorial service to be held Saturday, July 14 at the Warrior Run Area Fire Dept. Social Hall, 1st St. Allenwood at 11 a.m. A reception to celebrate Paul’s life will follow.
