Raine Joseph Kime, 36, of Milton, passed away Thursday morning, March 5, 2015 at his home after a two year battle with cancer.
He was born on March 13, 1978, in Pottsville, the beloved son of the late Eugene Kime and Joyce Dorman Holliday, of Winfield. On December 12, 2004, he married the love of his life, Cathy Crabb, who survives. Together they celebrated 10 years of marriage.
Raine was a 1996 graduate of Lewisburg High School, although he attended Eisenhower High School, Russell, PA, for two years. While at Eisenhower, he excelled at bowling, track and football. He continued track at Lewisburg and went to the state track meet two years in a row.
After graduating high school, Raine attended a couple of colleges before settling on McCann School of Business, obtaining a degree in computer technology. He worked for the C.S.I.U. in Montandon, where he was highly regarded by his coworkers, who have provided incredible support to Raine and his family during his illness.
Raine saw the humor in everything and almost always had a smile on his face. He loved to pull jokes on people, including a new boss he had only known for two weeks. Everyone who knew Raine knew his humor.
He had a true love of bowling, participating in leagues and tournaments with his wife, who shared his passion. Although he had other hobbies than bowling, his main purpose was to keep his family happy. He was a loving father, son and husband and the world revolved around his wife and children. Raine loved spending time at the beach. He spent many summer nights at Knoebel's Amusement park as a child and continued that tradition with his family. His greatest wish was to explore Disney World with his family and this wish came true in September of 2014.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are his step father, Harry Holliday, of Winfield; one son, Jonathon Eugene Kime, of Milton; one daughter, Sydney Elizabeth Kime, of Milton; maternal grandmother, Nancy Dorman, of Sunbury; his mother-in-law, Bonnie Crabb, of Milton and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father he was predeceased by one sister, Sarah Elizabeth Kime; maternal grandfather, Bill Dorman and his father-in-law, John Crabb.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1125 Mahoning Street Milton and again from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, where a funeral service will be held at 11 with the Reverend Patricia A. Pittsnogle, officating.
Burial will follow in Montandon Cemetery.
The family suggests donations in Raine’s memory be made to help benefit his children. Checks may be made to Swineford National Bank (please specify Raine Kime Memorial Fund in memo) and mailed to 70 International Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
