Rebecca Jane Travis

April 3, 1924 — June 20, 2017

Rebecca Jane Travis, 93, of New Columbia, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born April 3, 1924 in White Deer, a daughter of the late Floyd and Flavia (Brintzghoff) Koch.

Rebecca was a 1941 graduate of Watsontown High School, where she was class Valedictorian. She worked as a secretary at several former local manufacturers. Rebecca also worked as a teachers aide at the former White Deer Elementary School.

She was a devote Christian and lived her faith throughout her life. Rebecca was socially active in the community and enjoyed teaching Sunday school at different churches.

Surviving are four children, Bethany Lytle and her husband, Jeff, of New Columbia, Scott Stump and his wife, Criss, of Arizona, Terina (Stump) Doherty and Danita Nelson and her husband, Bob, all of New Columbia; six step children, who live out of the area; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband of 32 years, Foster Leonard "Pork" Stump; her second husband of 32 years, Harold Monroe "Hal" Travis; and three sisters and three brothers.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be held in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
