Rev. Raymond F. Culp, 89, of Bethlehem and formerly of Lewisburg, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015, at his daughter's home in Bethlehem.
He was born November 13, 1925 in Buffalo Twp., a son of the late Clarence H. and Ethel M. (Griffith) Culp. On August 31, 1948 he married the former Alma L. Clark, who survives. Together they celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Raymond was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School. He was ordained in 1955 after attending the School of Theology at the former Eastern Pilgrim College, later United Wesleyan College, Allentown.
He worked as a pastor for many church communities; including, Evangelical Methodist Church, Forest Hill, Pilgrim Holiness Church in State College, Cape May, NJ, Harrisburg and Frackville, Pilgrim Holiness/Wesleyan Church, Augustaville, and the Wesleyan Church in Florence, NJ and Trainer.
Raymond was a member of the Augustaville Wesleyan Church, near Paxinos. He also attended First Church of the Nazarene, Mifflinburg.
He enjoyed reading, gardening, carpentry and fishing.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters and sons-in-law, Marleeta D. and Randall Wood, of Bethlehem and Carlene M. and George Boldizar, of Germantown, TN; five grandchildren, Angelita Wood, Brad Boldizar and wife, Blair, Michelle Mears and husband, Curtis, Joe Correll and wife, Andrea, and Ian Culp; and six great-grandchildren, Hampton Boldizar, Toby, Lucy and Jay Mears, and Brody and Ada Correll.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Stephen Culp; and two brothers, William and Carl Culp.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene, 12 Market St., Mifflinburg, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Wayne S. Krell, officiating.
Burial will be held privately in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
