Richard W. Bower

Richard W. Bower, 82, of Milton, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born October 11, 1934 in Potts Grove, a son of the late Willard and Florence (Smith) Bower. On February 3, 1957, he married the former Marlene G. Robinson and they celebrated 48 years of marriage before her death on December 7, 2005.

Richard was a 1953 graduate of Montandon High School.

He served honorably in the United States Army.

Richard retired after 44 years from Chef Boyardee, where he worked in maintenance.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Milton and the Milton Fish and Game Association.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ben Bower, Larry and Teri Bower and Brian and Karen Bower, all of Milton; one sister-in-law, Sharon Wert, of Milton; and three grandchildren, Jesse, Lucas and Zachary Bower.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Franklin and Nelson Bower and five sisters, twins, Mary Hein and Marian Stamm, Betty Delaney, Margaret Booker and Dorothy Bower in infancy.

Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church 316 Golf Course Rd. Milton, where a Funeral Service will be held at 2 with his pastor, the Rev. James R. Dries, officiating.

Burial will be held privately in Montandon Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 316 Golf Course Rd. Milton, PA 17847.

The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
