Richard Alan "Toad" Poust

July 22, 1966 — December 24, 2014

Richard Alan Poust, also known to his friends as Toad, age 48, of Sunbury, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the Sunbury Community Hospital Emergency Room.

He was born July 22, 1966 in Lewisburg, a son of Russel V. Poust, of Watsontown and the late Virginia Mae (Arnold) Poust.  He married the former Deborah Ann Oyster, who survives.

Richard was a graduate of Milton High School.  He worked as a welder at ACF Industries, Milton, and previously worked at Pik Rite Industries and Play World Systems, both of Lewisburg.

Richard had a strong passion for hunting, fishing and camping.  He was a fan of racing and could be often found at the Selinsgrove Speedway. Welding was not only his career, he also enjoyed it as a hobby. Among his favorite pastimes was repairing automobiles and rebuilding engines. He was a member of the Americus Hose Company, Sunbury.

Surviving in addition to his wife, of Sunbury are his father, Russel Poust, of Watsontown; a step son, Michael A. Heverly and his wife Deanna, of Milton; a step son, Ronald E. Heverly and partner Desarae Rice, of Watsontown; a step daughter, Melissa D. Heverly and partner Zachary Mausteller, of Las Cruces, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Dylan, Reagan, Coalston, and Raeleigh Heverly; a sister, Mary E. Brady, of Watsontown; and a nephew, Michael A. Brady, of Watsontown.

In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a brother, Vernon V. Poust; paternal grandparents, Russel & Bertha Poust; maternal grandparents, Grant & Mary Arnold.

Friends will be received from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, January 2 at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Gaugler of Calvary Fellowship Susquehanna Valley, Shamokin Dam.

The family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Richard's name may be made to Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
