Robert L. "Pork" Criswell

Robert L. "Pork" Criswell, 72, of 245 Eighth St. Drive, Watsontown, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Watsontown Health and Rehab.

He was born April 6, 1943 in Watsontown, a son of the late James Roy and Beatrice M. (Yocum) Criswell. He and his wife, the former Florence M. Rouzes, were married October 9, 1966 in Cape St. George, Newfoundland, Canada. Together they celebrated 38 years before her death Aug. 14, 2005.

Pork was a 1961 graduate of Warrior Run High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for seven years, six months and 28 days. Pork worked for the former Zenith Corp., Watsontown and retired from the former American Home Foods, Milton, now Chef Boyardee.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Watsontown. Pork was a lifetime member of the Clyde F. Mowrer American Legion Post #323, Watsontown.

He enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and Penn State sports teams.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Criswell, of Shamokin Dam, twins, Michael Criswell, of White Deer and Daniel Criswell, of Watsontown; daughter, Michele Criswell, of Watsontown; brother and sister-in-law, James and Connie Criswell, of Watsontown; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra  and Herbert Bright, of Montoursville and Patricia and Gary Hassenplug, of Watsontown; and four grandchildren, Alexis Hanford, and her husband, Joseph, and Samantha, Michael and Madasyn Criswell.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Burial with full military honors will be held in the Watsontown Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Clyde F. Mowrer American Legion Post #323, 1016 Main St., Watsontown, PA 17777 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or online at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
