Robert C. "Bob" Hornberger

Robert C. “Bob” Hornberger, 86, formerly of Hughesville, died Friday, March 9, 2018 at AristaCare of Loyalsock.

Born September 21, 1931 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Clarence and Julia Iva (Norton) Hornberger.  He and his wife, the former Constance Ryder, celebrated 50 years of marriage before her death July 20, 2008.

Bob attended Williamsport Schools and served his country during the Korean War.  Following his time in the service, he worked various jobs including in the construction industry, as a farmhand, at the former Zenith, Watsontown and finally at Furman’s, Northumberland.

Bob was a member of Church of God, Route 405, Montgomery.  In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are one son, Dale R. Hornberger and his companion, Rise Poust, of Muncy; one daughter, Sherry (Hornberger) Sones, of McEwensville; one brother, John Hornberger, of Maryland; one sister, Phoebe Barto, of Williamsport; five grandchildren, Jasmine, Dalyn, Tyree and Dalton Hornberger, and Jonathan Sones; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, David and Harry Hornberger; and two sisters, Stella Plank and Helen VanHorn.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to Church of God, 7008 Hwy. 405, Montgomery, PA 17752.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main Street, Muncy.
