Robert Harvey Kemrer, 78, of Watsontown, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

He was born August 14, 1938 in Milton, a son of the late Harvey and Pearl (Lynn) Kemrer. On February 8, 1962, he married the former Mary Wertman, who survives. Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage.

Robert was a 1956 graduate of Muncy High School.  He served honorably in the United States Navy for six years.  After his time in the service, he worked at the former Rochelle Furniture, Montgomery, where he had several furniture patents.  He also worked for the former Philco/Ford, later Zenith, Watsontown.  Robert retired from the former Pennsylvania House Furniture, Lewisburg.

He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Dewart.

Robert had a deep passion for woodworking.  He loved to make gifts for family members and also refinishing old furniture.  Other passions included going to flea markets, working on small engines, gardening and flowers, and most recently, bird watching.  More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family as they always came first.  Robert loved his Sunday morning family breakfasts at Country Cupboard, summer cookouts and picnics, and all the holidays, especially Christmas, when his family was together.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Robert and Wanda Kemrer, of Mills; two daughters, Myra Hartman and Mae Kemrer, both of Turbotville; one sister, Ethel Confer, of South Avis; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Richard Kemrer; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Ruth Kemrer; a brother in infancy, Harvey Kemrer; a sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Lynn Heberling; a brother-in-law, William Confer; and a son-in-law, Brady Hartman.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at St. John's United Methodist Church, 49 River Rd., Dewart, where the funeral will follow at 1 p.m.

Burial with full military honors will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

The family welcomes flowers, however, if desired, contributions in Robert's name may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, PO Box 105, Dewart, PA 17730.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main Street, Watsontown.
