Robert L. Shuey Jr.

Robert L. “Bob” Shuey Jr., 73, of Montgomery, died on Monday, September 2, 2024, at home with his family by his side.

Born January 7, 1951, in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Robert and Lois (Hayes) Shuey. On April 20, 1974, he married the former Deborah Mann, who survives. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Bob was a 1969 graduate of Jersey Shore high school and attended Lock Haven University.  He worked in sales and retired from YBC, Williamsport.

Bob had a passion for football and played under Coach Frank Girardi in high school and also played three years in college.  He later coached his kids in youth football as well as AYSO soccer.

Bob was a self taught musician and collector of acoustic guitars.  He was a member of the Martin Guitar Club and had a collection of 15 guitars.  Bob played for countless bands, most notably the Bluegrass Express Reunion Band and Strawberry Ridge.  He was a mentor for many and also played at local nursing homes following retirement.

Bob also loved fishing, especially on his boat in the river. He fished for small mouth bass and was a “catch and release” kind of guy.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Adam Shuey and his wife, Amy, of Watsontown, Erin Thomas and her husband, Jesse, of Muncy, and Harry Shuey and his wife, Mackenna, of Montgomery; five sisters, Cindy Zdonowski, Lisa Welsh, Kimberly Weaver, Ann Karstetter and Jennifer Rich; and six grandchildren, Dane and Lylah Shuey, Bohdy, Jaxson and Finn Thomas, and Swayzee Shuey.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, September 7 at Grace Baptist Church, 5471 Clarkstown Road, Muncy, where a Funeral Service will be held at Noon with Pastor Charles Teffeteller, officiating.
