Robert H. Staib, 79, of 207 Sprout Rd., Muncy, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Gatehouse, Williamsport.

Born May 15, 1934 in Williamsport, he was the son of the late John and Helen (White) Staib. On January 6, 1962 he married the former Angeline M. Giunta. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Robert was a 1953 graduate of Milton High School and a graduate of the former Williamsport Area Community College, where he received a degree in Electrical Technology. Stationed in Germany during the time of the Korean War, he served honorably in the U.S. Army.

Robert worked at the former Sprout-Waldron, now Andritz, from 1961 to 1993 and was a member of its Quarter Century Club. He also worked for Williamsport Electric and retired after 15 years.

Robert enjoyed golfing with his former co-workers from Sprout-Waldron.

He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Muncy and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons and daughters-in-law, James R. and Laurie Staib, of Milton, Steven J. and Jessica Staib, of Muncy and Edward P. and Lisa Staib, of Oakton, VA; one sister and brother-in-law, Jeanine and William Clark, of Selinsgrove; and two grandchildren, Gage and Marquesa Staib.

Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m., with his pastor, the Rev. Glenn McCreary, officiating.

Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Montoursville.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, PA 17756 or to the Lycoming County S.P.C.A. 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
