Robert E. "Skinner" Mcmanigal

Robert E. “Skinner” McManigal, 92, of Pennsdale, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Muncy Place.

Born September 27, 1931 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Robert and Lena (Schlock) McManigal.  On December 15, 1949 he married the former Janet M. Rogers, who predeceased him on February 27, 2023.  Together they celebrated 73 years of marriage.

Skinner was a 1949 graduate of Muncy High School. He served honorably with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his service, he attended and graduated from Lycoming College in 1958, receiving a degree in economics and accounting.  Skinner then earned a degree in business from Bucknell University.  He retired in 1993 from the Loyalsock School District where he served as a business manager and secretary

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Pennsdale. Skinner was a member of the Roland Ritter American Legion Post 268, Muncy and the Masonic Lodge #106 F & AM, Williamsport.  In 2002, he received the Brotherhood County Award, formerly known as National Conference of Christian and Jews. Skinner was inducted into the Muncy High School Academic Hall of Fame for outstanding service and education to the community.

Skinner was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed traveling.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Barry Waldman, of Hughesville; one sister, Pearl Rathmell, of Muncy; and three grandchildren, Chelsy, Chloe and Chase Waldman.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by four siblings, Louise, Erma, Betty and Lawrence; and a brother-in-law, Clarence Rathmell.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, November 3, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Tammy Seyler, officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Robert’s name be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 658 Village Rd., Pennsdale, PA 17756.
