Roger M. Kahler, 65, of Montandon, died Sunday, September 1, 2024,at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born November 15, 1958, in Muncy,he was a son of William K. and Nancy A. (Waltman) Kahler, who both survive.
Roger was a 1977 graduate of Montgomery Area High School and attended the former Williamsport Area Community College, focusing on forestry.
He previously worked at Weis Markets and Lewis Lumber, at which time he attended training for Lumber Grading in Tennessee. Roger later retired from Leer, Milton, where he worked over 20 years.
He was a member for 23 years at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Potts Grove.
Roger was a member and past master of the Muncy Masonic Lodge #299, F&AM. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and hunting.
Surviving in addition to his parents are one daughter, Melissa Kahler, of Montandon; two brothers, William Kahler Jr. and his wife, Cheryl Burchfield, of Titusville, FL, and James Kahler and his wife, Michele, of Springfield, OR; one granddaughter, which was the light of his life, Isabella Kahler; a companion, Donna Erb, of Lewisburg; and one niece, two nephews, four great-nieces and one great-nephew.
The family is planning a Celebration of Roger’s life to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 28 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 70 S. Mill Road, Potts Grove, with his pastor, Rev. Dr. Lisa Barnes, officiating.
Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
