Roland E. Thomas Jr.

Roland E. Thomas, Jr., 64, of Trout Run, died Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born April 27, 1960 in Corry, PA, he was a son of the late Roland E. Sr. and Tyrella (Pringle) Thomas. On November 23, 1985, he married the former Georgea A. Pepperman, who survives. Together they celebrated 38 years of marriage.

Roland was a 1978 graduate of Muncy High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy for 21 years as an Aviation Electronics Technician, working primarily on electronics in F-14 Tomcats, drones and on radar systems. He was stationed at Naval bases around the world including NAS Keflavik Iceland, retiring from the Navy as an AT1 (AW). Following his retirement from the Navy, Roland worked for Videojet Technologies for 18 years, traveling to different areas of the United States and Canada.

He was a member of the Muncy Presbyterian Church.

Roland enjoyed golfing, fishing as well as maintaining his own garden. He was an avid fan of Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers football, as well as the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball. Over the years, Roland enjoyed the company of his many cats and dogs.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Logan G. Thomas, of Trout Run, PA; a stepson, Steven S. Wheeland, of South Kehei Maui, HI; a brother, Loren T. Thomas, of Muncy, PA; a niece, Olivia Ann Thomas; five cousins, Kathryn Ann Thomas, of Erie, PA, Crystal Rinker (Jesse), of Selinsgrove, PA, James B. Thomas, Jr. (Susan), of Elkton, MD, David Thomas (Laury), of Naples, FL and John Thomas (Sherry), of Pittsfield, PA.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Roland Ritter Post 268 American Legion, 515 Legion Rd., Muncy.

Burial will be held privately in Woodlawn Cemetery, Titusville.
