Russel L. Mingle

July 17, 1941 — March 23, 2018

Russel L. Mingle, 76, of 130 Mingle Rd., Turbotville, died Friday, March 23, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born July 17, 1941 in Turbotville, he was a son of the late Edward C. and Helen R. (Cohick) Mingle. On July 14, 1961 he married the former Kathryn I. Miller, who survives. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Russel attended Warrior Run High School and graduated from Pen Argyl High School. He served honorably with the Marine Corp from 1959 to 1965. In 1983 he retired from the Navy Seabees. During his time in the military, Russel became an expert marksman.

He was a member of Paradise United Church of Christ, Turbotville.

Russel enjoyed spending time in his apple orchard, caring for his 250 trees. He also loved walking.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, William J. Mingle, of Saylorsburg; a daughter, Penny E. Green, of Pocono Lake; a granddaughter, Stephanie K. Green, of Sun Valley; a great-grandchild, Addison Leigh Shorkey; three brothers, Melvin L. Mingle, Clyde E. Mingle, and his wife, Wanda, and Gerald Mingle, all of Turbotville; and four sisters, Irene V. Warner, Normalee J. Miller, Pauline K. Aunkst, all of Turbotville and Maxine W. Mingle, of Danville.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Chester E., Torrance L. and Dale L. Mingle and one sister, Delores J. Stayton.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday  in Indiantown Gap National Military Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Rd., Annville, with his pastor, the Rev Douglas Schader, officiating.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Paradise United Church of Christ, 8105 Paradise Rd., Milton, PA 17847.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
