Russell Lee Boyer, Sr.

Russell Lee Boyer, Sr., 76, of 2 Center St., Watsontown, died Monday, December 1, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born August 26, 1938, in Lewisburg, he was a son of the late Edgar E. and Bertha M. (Vanetta) Boyer.  On September 24, 1959, he married the former Donna K. Remick, who survives.  Together they celebrated 55 years of marriage.

Russell was a graduate of  Lewisburg High School and served in the United States Navy for four years.

He retired from Weis Markets, where he worked as a truck driver for 36 years.

Russell was a life member of both the American Legion, Post #182, Lewisburg and the William Cameron Engine Co., Lewisburg, where he served as a fire chief.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR and traveling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Russell, Jr. and Lindsey Boyer, of New Columbia and Mark Boyer, of Watsontown; three daughters and sons-in-law, Leann and James Marie, Kathy and Brian Bahner and Gail and Marty Wise, all of New Columbia; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Cecil Arnold, of Millmont; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
