Ruth A. Bieber

Ruth A. Bieber, 89, of 34 Heatherbrook Estates, Muncy, died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at home.
Born February 1, 1927 in Anthony Twp., Montour County, she was a daughter of the late Earl A. Sr. and Leona A. (Mohr) Craig. Her husband of 47 years, Walter S. Bieber, died December 26, 1993.
Ruth attended the former Hurley Schoolhouse in Anthony Twp., Montour County, and later attended Turbotville High School. She was employed as a nurses aid at Muncy Valley Hospital and also worked at the former Coppes’ Holiday Market in Muncy. Ruth later worked as a machine operator at the former Carey McFalls in Montoursville.
She was a member of the Bloomsburg Chapter of the Daughters of America; the Edward J. Smith Post 3428 V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Muncy; and the Rotary Club. She loved to travel and very much enjoyed playing cards.
Surviving are one brother, Robert Craig; two sisters, Ann Lovelace and Ethel Ranck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by five brothers, Earl Jr., Richard, John, Oscar and James Craig; and three sisters, Thelma Foust, Nancy Fry, and Dorothy Craig.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at noon. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
