Ruth Mcdonough

Ruth McDonough, of Kinston, NY, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her residence.
Born in Montgomery, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Gladys (Wells) Hitesman and had resided in Ulster County New York for many years. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas B. McDonough, March 18, 1991.
Ruth worked at the Ulster County Golden Hill Health Care Center, NY, as the secretary to Nursing Administration, until her retirement. She worked as a volunteer in the Activities Department after retirement. Ruth was also active in various programs at the Ulster Senior Center.
She was a member of the Overlook United Methodist Church, Woodstock, NY.
Surviving are her daughter, Kelly Butnor and her husband, John, and granddaughter, Whitney, all of Charlotte, VT; her significant other, Anthony Parise, of Ossining, NY; three sisters, Marilyn Fry, of Williamsport, Carol Rake, of Glenside, and Lois Kahle, of Allenwood; brother, Larry Hitesman, of Muncy; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown. The funeral will be held at noon Saturday at the Elimsport United Methodist Church, 16145 Rt. 44, Allenwood, with the Rev. Michael Hill, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Elimsport Cemetery.
