Ruth A. Pyers

Ruth A. Pyers, 101, of Ocala, FL, died Sunday, January 19, 2025 at her home.

Born August 10, 1923, in Middleburg, she was a daughter of the late Ira C. and Miriam O. (Benfer) Boyer. On April 12, 1943 she married Calvin W. Pyers, who preceded her death March 11, 2005. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage.

She was a graduate of Freeburg High School.

Ruth was a member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.

Surviving are her children, Randal Pyers, of Ocala, FL, Geraldine Pyers and Lon Pyers, both of Lewisburg; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Elmer Boyer and two sisters, Esther Aucker and Faye Hassinger.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, January 27 at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg, where the funeral service will be held at 11 with the Rev. Katy Moran, officiating.

Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
