Ruth B. Reuther

Ruth B. Reuther, 97, of Muncy, died Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.

Born April 28, 1921 in Muncy, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Irene (Phillips) Bodine. She and her husband, Robert J. Reuther, celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death Dec. 22, 2008.

Ruth was a 1939 graduate of Muncy High School. She worked as a secretary for the Ward L. Myers Elementary School, retiring in 1985. Ruth previously worked at the John Bruch insurance agency.

She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Muncy.

Ruth enjoyed crocheting, sewing and reading. She was a member of the Widow’s Mite.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Karen Reuther, of Morgantown, WV, Thomas and Sharon Reuther, of Milton and Michael and Wilda Reuther, of Montgomery; a daughter, Ellen Gilbert, of Wilmington, DE; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, John Bodine and a son-in-law, Ralph Gilbert.

Friends will be received from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Janet Dougherty, officiating.

Burial will be held privately in the Muncy Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Ruth’s name be made to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 201 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756.
