Ruth I. Tilburg, 71, of 499 Shakespeare Ave., Milton passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born August 23, 1945 in New Columbia, the daughter of the late Eric and Marian (Krick) Specht. On November 11, 1972 she married William Tilburg III, who survives. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage.
Ruth was a 1963 graduate of Milton High School. She previously worked at the Insurance Shop, Milton and currently worked as a customer service representative for First National Insurance, Selinsgrove.
She was a member of the former St. Peter United Methodist Church, Milton.
In her free time, Ruth enjoyed collecting antique glassware and Yankee candles. She was also fond of watching QVC. Most of all, Ruth loved spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four children, Gregory Tilburg, and his wife, Rachel, of Erie, Melissa Tilburg and her fiancé, Remon Atala, of La Plata, MD, Angela Snead and her husband, Michael, of Waldorf, MD and Brian Tilburg and his wife, Patricia, of State College; one brother, Eric D. Specht and his wife, Mary, of Painted Post, NY; three grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan and Colton Tilburg; her adopted canine children, Barkley and Baylee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Revival Tabernacle, 960 Susquehanna Trail, Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m., with the church minister, Pastor James R. Bond, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Milton Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Haven to Home Canine Rescue, c/o Laurie, 625 Hillside Dr., Berwick, PA 18603.
