Sara Jane DeGregorio, 85, of Watsontown, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born July 8, 1929 in Watsontown, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Leona (Cromley) McKee .  Sara was married to Sebastian DeGregorio, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 8, 2010. They were married for 44 years.

Sara was a 1947 graduate of Watsontown High School and later graduated from the former Geisinger School of Nursing, Danville.  She practiced nursing at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, Greenwich Hospital, Connecticut and eventually returned to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.  Her medical specialty was OBGYN.

After marriage, Sara helped Sebastian run the Riverview Hotel in Danville, PA.  Sara was also a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  Sara enjoyed her family, her grandsons, cooking, music, flowers and birds.  She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Milton.  Sara was active with her husband in the local Democratic party and enjoyed registering people to vote.  She volunteered for many years as a registered nurse with the American Red Cross.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Sebastian III and Susan DeGregorio, of Howard; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Steven Collins, of Philadelphia; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" Calabro and James of Montgomery; three sisters-in-law, Patricia McKee, of Gettysburg, Kathryn Pakuta, of Northumberland, and Mary Noel Jordan, of Lebanon; two beloved grandchildren, Harry Francis and Dean Sebastian Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sara was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth McKee.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 10 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 109 Broadway St., Milton, where a Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, Rev. John David Hoke, officiating.

Burial will follow in Watsontown Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Sara's name be made to Evangelical Hospice, 1 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
