Sara “Sally” Van Sant Fetter, 92, of Lewisburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 13, 2016 at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.

She was born February 10, 1924 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Earl M. and Martha Mae (Koons) Catherman.

She was a 1942 graduate of Lewisburg Area High School and a 1947 graduate of Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing.

Sally worked as a registered nurse at the Williamsport Hospital, Baltimore City Hospital, Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village and the Lewisburg Area School District.  She was extremely proud of her nursing career, enjoyed caring for others, and was a devoted volunteer for many years with Hospice.

In addition to her volunteer work, Sally loved to dance, read, and spend time with her family.

Surviving are three sons, Stephen E.  and Jeffrey S. Van Sant, both of Lewisburg and Timothy P. Van Sant, of Burlington, NC; a brother, Robert Catherman, of Winfield; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a special friend, Gregory Lamprino, of Milton; and her canine companion, Koko.

In addition to her parents Sally was preceded in death by husbands, William E. Van Sant, Jr., whom she was married to from 1945-1966 and W. Roger Fetter, whom she was married to from 1982-2000; a son, Michael E. Van Sant, who died in 1997; two sisters, June Solomon and Shirley Wehr; and a brother, Earl Catherman.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.

Sally asked that contributions be made in her memory to either Evangelical Hospice of Lewisburg, 1 Hospital Dr., Lewisburg, PA 17837 or the Public Library for Union County, 255 Reitz Blvd., Lewisburg, PA 17837.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
