Sharon K. Bennett

Sharon K. Bennett, 76, a longtime resident of Dewart, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born February 12, 1940 in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Melvin L. and Hazel E. (Newcomer) Young. She married Ronald L. Bennett on May 28, 1983. Together they celebrated 28 years of marriage before his death March 15, 2012.
Sharon attended Montgomery schools. She was a very hard worker for many local manufacturers.
Sharon enjoyed her beautiful flowers and most of all, loved spending time with family.
Surviving are two sons, Earl Walburn and his wife Pam, of Watsontown and Greg Walburn, of Sunbury; two daughters, Julia Derr and her husband John, of Muncy and Darlene Hagenbuch and her husband Jeff, of Sunbury; two stepsons, Brian Bennett and his wife Julie, of Muncy and Brad Bennett and his wife Stephanie, of Waverly, NY; one stepdaughter, Brenda Knopp, of Muncy; two brothers, Robert Young and his wife Madeline, of Watsontown and Roland Young, of FL; two sisters, Sandra Mitstifer and her companion, Larry, of Milton and Connie Meyers and her husband Skip, of Montandon; one sister-in-law, Carol Young, of Williamsport; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two sons, Douglas and Dale Walburn; four brothers Charles, Earl, Albert and Larry Young; two sisters, Genevieve Leech and Margaret "Peg" Miller; one son-in-law, Craig Knopp and one brother-in-law, Clyde Young.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Burial will follow in the Watsontown Cemetery.
