Sharon K. McElwee, 55, of Amber Lane, Muncy, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the Gatehouse, surrounded by family after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born August 23, 1962 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Raymond M. Rader Sr. and Shirley A. (Smith) Rader, of Muncy. On January 18, 1986, she married Kurt D. McElwee, who survives. Together they celebrated 31 years of marriage.
Sharon was a 1980 graduate of Muncy High School. She worked at numerous retail stores, most recently for 13 years as manager at Christopher & Banks, at the Lycoming Mall, Muncy.
She was a member of the Muncy Valley Moose 866. Sharon was an animal lover and enjoyed playing cards, camping and traveling, especially going on cruises.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are two nephews whom she raised, Michael Rader, and his wife, Nichole and Matthew Rader, both of South Williamsport; and a brother, Raymond M. Rader Jr. and his wife, Deb, of Muncy.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. with Chaplin David K. Fishel, of UPMC Susquehanna, officiating.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Sharon’s name be made to the Susquehanna Health Foundation c/o the Gatehouse, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
