Shirley Carlson Hoffman, 80, of Watsontown, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Unit.
She was born September 4, 1934 in Allentown, a daughter of the late Carl Iver and Clara (Pollock) Carlson.
Shirley was a high school graduate and received her bachelor's degree from Hood College, MD and her Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
She worked many years as a social worker for the Wesley Institute, Pittsburgh.
Surviving are a longtime partner, Charles Moore, of Watsontown; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Sandy Hoffman, of Watsontown; a daughter, Kerry Hoffman, of Watsontown; and one granddaughter, Gabrielle Hoffman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Carlson; and one brother in infancy.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
