Shirley A. Troup, 88, of Sunbury and formerly of Kelly Crossroads, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Golden Living Center-Mansion, Sunbury.

She was born July 8, 1928 in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Slifer and Aritte (Mann) Bennage. She and her husband, Randall A. Troup, Sr., celebrated 55 years of marriage before his death May 9, 2001.

Shirley attended Lewisburg area schools. Early in life she worked at the former Milton Shoe Factory.

Shirley was a longtime member of St. Peter United Church of Christ (Twin Churches), Lewisburg.

She had a fondness for cats and regularly rescued and cared for many. Shirley enjoyed gardening in her flower beds. She was an excellent cook and baker. Most of all, Shirley loved spending time with her family and friends, always looking forward to the next get together.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Gary W. and Anna Troup, of Lewisburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Diana J. and Stanley Dippery, of Beaver Springs and Gail E. Shirk, of Littleton, NC; a brother and sister-in-law, Curt and Arlene Bennage, of Milton; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rosella Predix, of Mifflinburg, Donna and Amos Gray, of New Columbia and Audrey and Thomas Wagner, of Florida; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Randall A. Troup, Jr.; two brothers, Robert and Bill Bennage; and two sisters, Judy Kline and Mary Bennage.

Friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel H. Hicks, pastor of Buffalo Valley United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the White Deer Church Cemetery (Twin Churches), Lewisburg.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to PA Pets, 203 E. Fifth St., Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
