Stanley R. Glidewell

Stanley R. Glidewell, 74, of Picture Rocks, died Thursday, November 17, 2022 at UPMC, Williamsport.

He was born on February 24, 1948 in Williamsport, a son of the late Cleon Arthur and Hazel (Blair) Glidewell.  On January 29, 1972 he married the former Shirley Taggart, who survives.  Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Stanley attended Williamsport High School and later worked for Airborne Express and as a school bus driver for Brelsford Transportation.

He was a member of Picture Rocks United Methodist Church and the Picture Rocks Fire Company, where he previously served as fire police chief.

In his free time, Stanley enjoyed attending dirt track sprint car and Nascar races with his wife.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Alan Glidewell (Kristi Wright), of Picture Rocks.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Wanda Eichenlaub.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 22 at Picture Rocks United Methodist Church, Laurel Run Road, Picture Rocks, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11a.m. with Pastor’s Katherine Behrens and Bill Danis, officiating.
