Stella M. Hafer, 82, of Riverside, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at her home.
She was born March 26, 1942 in Danville, a daughter of the late Robert and Goldie (Hollenbaugh) Troxell. On January 13, 1962 she married Joseph F. Hafer, who survives. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Stella was a 1960 graduate of Danville High School. Earlier in life, she was employed at a variety of jobs. Stella then worked at the Danville State Hospital for 20 years until her retirement.
Stella was fond of roller skating when she was younger. She always enjoyed playing cards, especially poker and taking trips to the casino. She loved animals such as cats and horse and especially dogs, having many through the years. Stella was fond of the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. She would craft her own custom Halloween costumes and enjoyed dressing up as Santa for her family and friends during Christmas. Most importantly, Stella had a great personality, was well liked and was always helping others. She dearly loved her grandchildren. Stella will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Regina Reinaker and her husband, Scott and Kathy Schmidt and her husband, Ken, all of Danville; one brother-in-law, Gary Rudy; one sister-in-law, Sandra Troxell; five grandchildren, Stephanie Bower and her husband Curt, Travis Reinaker and his wife Kristin, and Justin Reinaker and his wife Lauren, Kenny Schmidt and Kevin Schmidt; two great-grandchildren Kyler and Luke and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Ross and her husband Chet and Barbara Rudy; one brother, Robert Troxell.
In keeping with Stella’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
