Steven B. Barth, 59, of 220 Golf View Drive, Lewisburg, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016.
He was born November 29, 1956 in Altoona, a son of the late Rev. F. Louis Barth and Joan (Kough) Barth, of Mechanicsburg. He married the former Lori Strosser in 1989, who survives.
Steve was a 1974 graduate of Everett High School. He was also a graduate of Lycoming College, Williamsport and received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Bucknell University.
Throughout his career, Steve worked at several local banks as a loan officer, branch manager, senior vice president and president. He was proud to be a hometown banker in towns throughout the region, including, Lewisburg, Danville and Mt. Carmel. At the end of his career, he founded Lending Resource Center, devoted to serving local businesses.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lewisburg, where he served as a trustee. Steve was also on the board of trustees at Bloomsburg University, where he had served as past chairman.
Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting and occasionally shooting at groundhogs out his bathroom window.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kathryn Barth, of Wynnewood; a daughter, Sara Barth, of College Park, MD; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Beth Barth, of Hagerstown, MD and Brian and Carrie Barth, of Jacksonville, FL; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Jasper.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, 18 Market St., Lewisburg, with his pastor, the Rev. James C. King, officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the church’s Great Hall, where a reception will be held.
Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Starr Rd., Three Springs, PA 17264.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Father Martin’s Ashley, 800 Tydings Ln., Havre De Grace, MD 21078.
The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
