Terrence Lee Crouthamel

Terry Crouthamel, 82, of Muncy, Pennsylvania peacefully entered eternal life on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at his niece’s home in Harrisburg, PA. Terry is survived by his cherished wife, of 55 years, Carole; his niece Allison and her husband Michael, the daughter of his late sister Joanne; his sister-in-law Candice, nephews Terrence and his wife Casey, and Christopher and his wife Erin, the wife and sons of his late brother Anthony; his nephews and nieces Edward, Joni, Joseph, and Christina, the sons and daughters of his late sister Mary Alice; and his nieces Roxanne and Julie, the daughters of his late brother Robert. He is also preceded in death by his nephew Anthony Crouthamel, son of Robert.

Terry was born on December 31, 1941, the son of the late Anthony and Alice Crouthamel. He was raised in Harrisburg, attended Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Elementary School, and was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, Class of 1959. Terry furthered his education at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Education, Class of 1965.  He then earned a Masters of Secondary Guidance Counselor at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. During his time at Mansfield University, Terry had an outstanding basketball career with many accolades, which were highlighted by being named a two-time team captain, induction into the Mansfield Athletic Hall of Fame, and selection to the Mansfield Basketball All-Century Team.

Terry devoted his professional career to educating students and positively impacting the lives of young adults while serving as a teacher, guidance counselor, and basketball coach at Muncy High School.  During this time, he built many long-lasting relationships, including the most important one of his life, the relationship with his wife Carole, who taught alongside him throughout his career.

Outside of his professional life, Terry’s days were filled with golf outings with buddies, daily dinner dates with Carole at their favorite spots around town, relaxing at home with a good book, and fall Saturdays watching Notre Dame football.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, PA 17756, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be sent to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110, in memory of Terry Crouthamel.
