Thomas F. Colocino

Thomas F. Colocino, 88, of 856 Heilman Road, Montoursville, died Monday, January 18, 2016, at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville, where he resided the past month.

Born July 20, 1927 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Tomas and Josephine (McDermit) Colocino.  On October 30, 1965 he married the former Cleda M. Probst.  Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

A 1946 graduate of Jersey Shore High School, Tom joined the U.S. Army later that year.  He was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.

For 47 years Tom and his wife owned and operated Tom’s Tavern in Avis.  After retiring in 1997 Tom and Cleda moved to Montoursville where they enjoyed 18 years of meeting new friends, as well as seeing old friends who came to visit.

Tom was a former member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Lock Haven.

He was a life member of the Wheel Inn, Ralston, and a member of Jersey Shore Elks Lodge #1057; the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #100 in Lock Haven; the Young Men’s Republican Club in Williamsport; and the N.R.A.  A former member of the West Branch Beagle Club, he spent a good deal of time raising and hunting with beagles.  Tom was an avid New York Yankees fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, James and Joseph Colocino; and two sisters, Angelina Railing and Sophia Geyer.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 30th,  at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.  There will be no service.
