Timothy J. "Turk" Ferguson

Timothy J. “Turk” Ferguson, Jr., 84, of Muncy, died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born on Sunday, October 5, 1930 in Williamsport, he was a son of t­he late Timothy J. Sr. and Lucille (Mayer) Ferguson.  He married the former Florence Magruder, who preceded him in death January 15, 2005.

Turk was a graduate of Williamsport High School.  He later joined the United States Army and served honorably during the Korean War.  Following his time in the Army, he attended Lycoming College where he was a member of the football team.  After college, he worked for Washington D.C. jail and later retired from the Lewisburg Federal Penitentiary.

He enjoyed golfing after retirement, although his real passion was maintaining his property along Muncy Creek and cutting his own firewood.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Connie and Keith Forney, of Middleburg, and Martha Johnson and Faith and James Bonner, all of Lothian, MD; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Donna Ferguson, of Clarkstown; one sister, Sarah Link, of Emmaus; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one son, Charles Lively; and one brother-in-law, Gill Link.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.

Burial will be held privately in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lycoming County S.P.C.A. 2805 Reach Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
