Warren J. Dieffenderfer, 96, formerly of Milton, died on Monday, June 11, 2024 at Evangelical Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born October 21, 1927, in West Milton, a son of the late Joel and Sadie (Mitchell) Dieffenderfer. On April 29, 1953 he married the former Shirley A. Finck, who preceded him in death on October 17, 2021. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Warren attended Milton Schools. He served honorable in the United States Army. Warren worked at Shippers Car Line, Milton for 45 years before retiring on December 31, 1990.
He was a life-time member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Milton and a member of the New Hope Lutheran Brethren Church, Lewisburg.
Always willing to lend a helping hand, Warren enjoyed working with Neighbors Helping Neighbors in Watsontown, where he delivered food. In his spare time, he loved hunting and bowling.
Surviving are one son, Gary Lee Dieffenderfer and his wife, Audrey, of Charlotte Hall, MD; one daughter, Patricia (Pattie) Tamecki, of Milton; one brother, Bill Dieffenderfer, of White Deer; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Keiser and her husband, Terry, of Lewisburg, four grandchildren, Bethany Seiple and her husband, Nathan, Brian Dieffenderfer and his wife, Maria, Amy Dieffenderfer and Logan Tamecki.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by one grandson, Kyle Tamecki; three sisters, Anna R. Harner, Wanda Aikey, and Alvaretta Sheets; and one brother, Gordon Dieffenderfer.
Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
