William T. Bobb, 97, of 3201 River Rd., Lewisburg, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.
He was born October 20, 1917 in Sunbury, a son of the late Bruce Timothy and Pauline T. (Runyan) Bobb. He and his wife, the former Sadie Fenstermacher were married January 31, 1943. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage before her death in 1998.
William was a 1935 graduate of Sunbury High School. Following his service in the U. S. Army Air Corp during World War II, he graduated from Bucknell University and then earned his CPA designation. He worked as the purchasing manager at Wise Potato Chip Company, Berwick for many years. After retirement, William volunteered as a driver for the American Cancer Society, United Way and Meals-on-Wheels, both in Berwick and Lewisburg.
William was a long time member of the First Baptist Church, Berwick. Upon moving to RiverWoods, he transferred his membership to the First Baptist Church, Lewisburg.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Paul D. and Katherine Bobb, of Jamestown, NC.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Charles Bobb, Bruce T. Bobb Jr. and Frank Bobb, who died in infancy.
The family is planning a memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at First Baptist Church, 51 S. Third St. Lewisburg with his pastor, the Rev. MacKenzie Scott, officiating.
Burial will be held privately in the Turbotville Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to either the First Baptist Church, 51 S. Third St., Lewisburg, PA 17837 or to a charity of one’s choice.
The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
