Lewisburg

William L. “Bill” Pine, 74, of Lewisburg, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 13, 2025 at his home.

Born on July 3, 1950 in Salem, OH, he was the son of the late William and Leah (Burton) Pine.

Bill was a 1968 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He served in the United States Army, where he was a paratrooper. Bill moved to Lewisburg many years ago and worked as a local handyman in town and the surround communities. Prior to that he was a copywriter editor and spent years working in greenhouses in Arizona.

He had a passion for motorcycles and was a certified Harley-Davidson mechanic. Bill enjoyed working with his hands and was truly a Jack of all trades. He also spent many hours reading and listening to music along with thrift shopping and tending a booth at the street of shops.

Bill was a kind caring man who was always willing to help those in need. Most importantly he loved his family and many friends

Surviving are four sisters, Lynn Buchanan, Diane Hall, Mary Pine Welsh and Jennifer Ellsworth and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life held in Lewisburg at a later date.

As Bill was an advocate for the humane treatment of all animals, memorial contributions may be made to either Mercy for Animals at mercyforanimals.org or FARM (Farm Animal Rights movements) at farmusa.org.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
