William K. “Willy K.” Young, 76, of Watsontown, died on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Evangelical Community Hospital.
William was born November 2, 1944 in Lewisburg, he was a son of the late Raymond and Stella (Kurtz) Young. On November 10, 1967 he married the former Maxine Kratzer. Together they celebrated nearly 54 years of marriage.
He served honorably in the United States Army during Vietnam. Following his service, he worked for the former Chef Boyardee, now ConAgra, Milton for 10 years. William later retired from the former Yorktowne Cabinets, Mifflinburg after 40 years.
William was a life member of the Muffley-Huff Post #8206, V.F.W., Turbotville and a member of the Bower-Decker Post#251 American Legion, Montgomery.
He loved to sing karaoke and was known as a comedian, who was always making everyone laugh.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Billie Joe Baker and her husband, William, Jr., of McEwensville and Donna Vognet, of Mifflinburg; three brothers, Wells Young, of Lewisburg, Thomas Young and his wife, Florence, of Bloomsburg and Lou Young, of Meadville; one sister, Edna Miller, of Kansas City, KS and five grandchildren, Natasha Mixell and her husband, Arron, Kristine Poust and her husband, James, Ronald Vognet, Jr., Nathan Vognet and Stanley Baker.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by 8 siblings.
Friends and family will be received from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday at Grenoble Funeral Home & Crematory, 308 Main St. Watsontown, where a funeral will be held at 1 with Pastor Butch Woolsey, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
The family suggests contributions be made to Grenoble Funeral Home & Crematory to help defray funeral expenses.
