William "Earl" Stogner

William “Earl” Stogner, 80, of Lewisburg, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville surrounded by his family.

He was born February 18, 1940 in Rockingham, NC, the son of the late Wilbur and Annie (Roberts) Stogner. On September 17, 1960, he married the former Joyce Robeson, who survives. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Earl was a 1958 graduate of Rohanen High School, Rockingham, NC. He went on to earn a business degree from King’s Business College, Charlotte, NC. Earl worked as Vice President of Finance for Pennsylvania House for 20 years and later retired from a similar position at Shop Vac Corporation.

He was a member of Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, serving on the church council, including a term as president.

Earl enjoyed doing yard work, golfing, and walking seven miles most days. Earlier in life, he traveled extensively, coached soccer, and attended events for his children. More recently, he enjoyed traveling to see his grandsons’ sporting events. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Jenny L. Neff (Eric), of Collegeville and Jonathan Stogner (Hannah), of Wilbraham, Mass; one sister, Linda Johnson (Joseph), of Knoxville, TN and two grandsons, Lucas and Zachary.

Services will be held privately and a private burial will be held in the Lewisburg Cemetery.

The family will provide flowers and suggest that contributions in Earl’s memory may be made to Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, through www.myremembrance.com , which will provide the family with a personalized keepsake listing of those who donated in his memory.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.
