Wilma M. Miller

Wilma M. Miller, 80, of New Columbia, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 surrounded by her family.

She was born October 6, 1936 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late William and Ernstine (Lower) Stahley.  She married Larry A. Miller on June 24, 1956 and together they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Wilma was a 1956 graduate of Lewisburg high school. Early in life she worked for Rea & Derick, Lewisburg, and later retired from food service in the Lewisburg school district.

Wilma was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Lewisburg.

She enjoyed making people happy with her cooking and baking, and was fond of shopping and going out to eat at the Cracker Barrel afterwards with her daughter Debbie and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Wilma loved her many grand dogs.

Surviving are four children, Larry A. Miller, of New Berlin, Debra M. Gutelius and her husband Joseph, of Northumberland, Teresa Saylor and her husband of Nicholas, of Myrtle Beach, SC and Scott W. Miller and his wife Pamela, of Northumberland; one twin brother, William Stahley, of Lewisburg; one sister, Gladys Metzler, of Long Island, NY; 10 grandchildren, Derek, Joshua and Kendall Miller, Danielle Andruchow, Courtney Behrer and Matthew Gutelius, Braiden Saylor, and Sierra, Chelsea and Jake Miller; and seven great-grandchildren, Trey, Kash, Emilia, Samuel, Felicity, Adriana and Dawson.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two sisters, Doris and Joan Stahley.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, June 22, at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1050 Buffalo Road, Lewisburg, with Rev. Dr. Robert Stoudt officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Wilma’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Wilma’s family would also like to thank the Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation CNA’s for all their wonderful care.
