Wilma J. Waltman, 80, of Virginia Beach, Virginia and a former longtime resident of Muncy, died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in Virginia.
Born March 8, 1935 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Nathan C. Smith Sr. and Eliza J. (Hilling) Smith. On April 18, 1959 she married Mark E. Waltman, who preceded her in death on April 22, 2011. Together they celebrated 52 years of marriage.
She graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School. Wilma worked in the cafeteria at Muncy High School as well as part-time at McDonalds in Lycoming Mall before moving to Arizona in 1991.
She was a former member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Muncy.
Wilma enjoyed mountain biking, painting, and camping.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn E. and Douglas Becker, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Wendy S. and Mahlon Miller, of Elkridge, Maryland and Patricia A. and Lance Williams, of Milford; three brothers, Nathan C. Smith, Jr., of Jersey Shore, Robert Smith, of Pickerington, Ohio and Glenn T. Smith, of Watsontown; one sister, Helen Ann Brickley, of Jersey Shore; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 24 at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be Pastor Ken Paulhamus, of Christ Wesleyan Church, Milton.
Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Muncy Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
